Chelsea Running Club

Today was a ridiculously warm and muggy (British English for humid) day as it has been the last few days. During the day, it spiked up to 30 degrees celsius, which made being in my room without any AirCon completely unbearable.
Since Alex is now in NYC, I've got loads of time in my hands that I've been using to eat out, pack, run errands, and work out. Today, I tried out to Chelsea Running Club's running session, which would be convenient for me when I move to Vauxhall next year as they run from the Chelsea Fire Station.
The people weren't over-the-top friendly. It was clear that everyone was there to just run. There was an optional social at a pancake place nearby, which I definitely would have gone to until I realized how much I've been eating the last few days. It didn't put me off at all though - I think sometimes it is definitely good to run in a pack to get your motivation up. I might go with them to do the longer run this Wednesday.
It's been an active day for me today - I cycled there and back on top of the 7km run with them. I didn't know how it would go in such a hot weather. I was in the intermediate group, aiming for 5:20 pace. My GPS watch told me we ran it in 5:30, but I guess it's from the heat and also the first and the last km were probably a bit off since we ran through a more crowded area. All in all, it was really nice to run in a pack despite the weather on a new route. Battersea Park will definitely be my new spot next year when I move nearby!
