Tapering

I'm actually running my second half marathon this Sunday in Liverpool. Most people think of rewarding themselves after exams with a trip to Magaluf or Paris, but I decided to break my time in this Merseyside city.
I'm running race featured by the Rock 'N' Roll series. I'll post more about it later, but for now, I am tapering for the big day.
I don't really like tapering because it means I can't run. To be frank, I feel fat on days I don't run or I don't run as much. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not - on one hand, it keeps me active, but on the other, it makes me self-conscious. But hey, if it helps with my running, I'll do it.
Today, I did my last 30 min + run. It consisted of a 10 minute warm-up, 3 minute half marathon pace + 3 minute easy run (x2), and then a 10 minute cool-down. Since I know I couldn't run any other time of the day except in the morning before breakfast, I set out for Regent's Park without breakfast, which probably was a bad idea, affecting my pace and my sore body. My hamstring were also extremely sore from my strength work on Sunday.
But, just a few more days to go and just a 10 more minute or running for the rest of the week before the big day on Sunday.
