Healthier Brunch

I've been trying the 16:8 fasting method, which basically goes for me that I eat only from 12pm to 8pm on any day. This means that I usually can eat more calories per meal since I'm only really eating lunch (brunch), dinner, and some snacks.

When the clock hits 12pm, I usually opt for something sweet. I never used to like sweet snacks but I think ever since I went on a low-carb diet, I've craved more and more sugar. I've found some great alternatives to satisfy my craving though. And because I'm able to eat more calories per meal, I am less stressed out about eating out as much.

This one day, I had some French toast from the Aoyama Flower Market Tea House.

Of course after a few days, my mom kind of told me to stop wasting money and eat at home (fair enough) so I've started making my own sweet brunch, which turns out is also healthier.

For example, I made these pancakes from just two ingredients: banana and eggs.

You just smush a medium-size banana and mix it with two eggs to make the batter. Then you just pour it like a normal pancake batter. I usually also add some of the zero-calorie vanilla FlavDrop that I got from MyProtein.com which works like magic. Since one banana is 105 calories and two eggs is around 160 calories, the pancakes in the picture come out to be only around 265 calories!

And today I made some French toast with just toast, egg, and almond milk with also a hint of vanilla. All I did was get two pieces of wholewheat toast and dip it in the mixture of one egg and some almond milk and then just grill it. It has definitely kept me very full and I'm very happy with the result! Two slices of bread is around 250 calories, one egg is around 80, and since I put only around 100ml of almond milk which is around 13 calories, I was kept full with less than 350 calories!

If I can make these, you can definitely, too! Happy healthy eating!
