My Main Electronic Running Buddy

I don't like running with earphones. I find time goes much slower (contrary to what most people say) because I start counting how long one song lasts. I then start obsessing over time, and I lose the mental endurance to go on. People say I'm crazy - I probably am.
So my main electronic running buddy is not my phone or my earphones, but my Garmin Forerunner 220.

I got this with the New Years money this year - an upgrade from my Nike Running Watch, which always would take at least two full minutes to connect to GPS.
The Garmin one is amazing. Even though it was one of their cheaper models, I can track everything (apart from heart rate) including where I ran, my cadence, stride length, etc. I can even download workouts and intervals so that I don't have to calculate the time - it just beeps for me. Garmin is expensive, but it is definitely known for its quality. I used to sometimes have really crazy metrics because the GPS was weak, but this one is much better. I highly recommend the Forerunner 220!
I think having the right gear can definitely give you motivation in running. I'll start posting more about many of the tools I use to get my feet moving in the upcoming posts!
